Abby's New Bed

We've noticed lately that Abby was getting too tall for her toddler bed. I am 6' tall and Paul is 6'2, so it's no surprise that our 2 1/2 year old is tall also. This week we bought some furniture from a guy in Anthem. He was moving and posted his stuff on Craig's list. I offered him half of what he was asking. The great price was the only thing that made me crazy enough to drive to anthem, an hour and a half away, to pick it all up. In all, we got a matching bed, dresser and nightstand for Abby's room and two new nightstands for our bedroom. Anyway, it was an adventure but we got everything home and put together last night. Here are some pics of the girls helping me. The pictures are from my cell phone, so I apologize for the poor quality.


This is Abby smiling at the beginning of the trip... None of us smiled much on the way home. It was just too much time in the car.


Abby took it upon herself to get the bed rails and carry them in to her room... Dangerous but funny enough for me to get a quick picture of. She was so excited to help me screw the bed together.


Holly helped too. She just thought it was fun to climb on Abby's old toddler bed. She's been practicing her climbing skills this week by climbing on everything!


This picture was taken right before I decided that things were too dangerous for Holly, and she had to watch from the gate that I put up at Abby's door. Poor girl... She really was trying to be a good helper.

And here is Abby in her new bed. We still have to get a few things situated but she is loving it so far! I love it too because now I can lay in bed with her when I read her a bedtime story. And Abby and Holly were caught several times today jumping on the bed. All part of childhood, right? Funny story... When Abby heard me call her nightstand a nightstand, she asked me to help her stand on it. The world must be so confusing to a toddler sometimes. They take things so literally.
